Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek but a means by which we arrive at that goal”- these famous lines by Martin Luther King, seem to have inspired the Japanese NGO-International World PEACE Symphony (IWPS),to come forward and act as a messenger for world peace.

The NGO seeks to play an active role in promoting world peace by organizing the World Peace Prayer Ceremony (WPPC): on the 14th July the ceremony was organized at Deepalaya School, Sanjay Colony. The Event was coordinated by Le Passage to India Tours and Travels Pvt Ltd -Deepalaya’s Corporate partner.

On this occasion a peace pole was installed at the school premises by the IWPS members. The 4 sided square pole of 2.5 meters in length has been inscribed with “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in four languages- Hindi, English, Bengali and Japanese.

Deepalaya students witnessed the installation and held up the flags of all the 192 countries enlisted in the United Nations list and prayed for the continued existence of peace in all the countries. The students also put up a colorful cultural program which the guests enjoyed thoroughly. They were delighted to see the enthusiasm among the kids and congratulated them for supporting such a noble and big cause at a tender age.

The students were delighted to have a peace pole installed in their school. “ I will surely convey the peace message to my friends and family”, said Chanda, a student.

“We are very happy and congratulate you for supporting our cause and hope that the message of peace will be spread by you all in the future”, said Hajime Sakazaki, Member, International World Peace Symphony.

“I thank the members of IWPS for choosing our school for installing the peace pole. The peace pole installed in the school will encourage the students to follow the path of peace and avoid the path of violence”, said Mithu Mukherjee, Principal, Deepalaya school.

As popularly said that a smile can light up a room, imagine what a world of smiles can do. It’s high time that people understand the need of brotherhood and harmony and start avoiding the path of violence. It is important to unite all people’s heart as one and pay equal requests to every one for a wider goal of world peace.
