A day for the proud fathers

Father’s day was celebrated by FADA team at Sanjay Colony on 17th June, 2016. The main idea behind celebrating the day was to honour the fathers who have been associated with the program and are actively supporting their daughter’s education under Father and Daughter Alliance. Also it provided an opportunity to the fathers to witness the talent that their daughters have and vice versa.

Father’s day was celebrated by FADA team at Sanjay Colony on 17th June, 2016. The main idea behind celebrating the day was to honour the fathers who have been associated with the program and are actively supporting their daughter’s education under Father and Daughter Alliance. Also it provided an opportunity to the fathers to witness the talent that their daughters have and vice versa. The event started with a welcome song “Su Swagatam” presented by a group of FADA students in the presence of Mr. K.L. Malhotra, one of the regular donors of FADA, Mr. Abraham Chacko, Ms. Babita Joshi and other Deepalaya Staff including Special Unit and Vocational Training Center. Around 185 students and 52 parents from Y-block and SanjayDaughters getting motivated with the drawing made by their father. colony were present on the occasion.

Thereafter, the students presented a group dances on the song “Papa Jaldi Ghar ana”. The little girls had put up a scintillating dance performance on “Taal se Taal Mila”. They were guided by the senior students.  After the dance performance 24 students presented a play to show the importance of girl child education and how a father can play important role in dissipating the age-old myths regarding girl child education. The play was a treat for everyone’s eyes.

It was time for the father’s to showcase their talent and the wonder that father-daughter duo could do to the Father-Daughter duo participating in painting competiotion on Father's Day.empty canvas. 24 Fathers and Daughters were asked to draw what they felt best represented their talent. The bonding between the fathers and their daughters was evident from the masterpieces that they drew.  The drawing were thereafter adjudged and ranked. Top three fathers were given prizes.

It was a proud movement for Fathers, students and FADA team when they came to know that the students who appeared for class 10 exams have passed out.  The team honoured Julie, Jyoti & Durga, and their fathers with suitable rewards. Mr. K L Malhotra gave Rs. 100/- each to all of them as a token of appreciation.

Little girls from FADA dancing on bollywood rythmes on Father's Day.Thereafter, three Fathers and their daughters were awarded based on their regularity and punctuality in attending the Fathers Meeting and attendance of students respectively during the last academic year. The move was intended to encourage and motivate the fathers to attend meetings regularly for a better future of their daughters.  

The program ended with distribution of snacks and refreshment to the students.
