A day off with McAfee
Macafee team came with lot of surprises and gifts, big and small, customised for all occasions, a water cooler for the boys’ hostel and a sumptuous lunch too for all. Not even a single child remained bereft of the goodies they brought. It was a rocking day for our children and MacAfee team as well.
A team comprising of 10 delegates from MacAfee visited Childrens’ home at Gusbethi on 28th April, 2015 to celebrate Global Community Service day. MacAfee has been supporting us for our Microfinance project and contributes an amount of Rs. 60000/- quarterly. It was their second visit. The day started with a welcome song and a small cultural program by children. Imran became the star of the day with his melodious voice.
Mr. Himanshu and Mr. Gaurav from MacAfee too sang songs for our children. It was wonderful to find that some children were able to recognise a few delegates who visited the place last year too. After the ice-breaking session, it was time for testing and sharing knowledge. The team had prepared a quiz on a variety of subjects. The first question was meant for the little ones as Gareeshma, one of the team members, asked where Deepalaya’s children’s home is located, in which district and which state? As the quiz progressed, questions became tough. There were mind-ticklers, simple mathematical questions and puzzles too. Mr. Himanshu also briefed children how earthquake takes place and how to tackle it. The last section concentrated on Bollywood. The hall was abuzz with activity with some children guessing even before the question was asked. The session ended with a prayer for the earthquake victims.
After lunch, the team announced a dance competition between girls and boys team. Some of them put up scintillating dance performances. Though girls were a bit shy, there were some who gave tough competition to boys. When time came for announcement of the winner, Mr. Gaurav proudly announced Deepalaya as the winner, which ruled their hearts, putting all speculations to rest.
