A healthy day for the little Deepalayans
It’s no secret that a well-balanced diet is essential to a healthy life, but what most people fail to realise is that proper nutrition provided to a child in the first five years of his/her life is equally, if not more important. These formative years are a time of critical growth and a good diet during this time helps the child to grow strong, both mentally and physically.

These formative years are a time of critical growth and a good diet during this time helps the child to grow strong, both mentally and physically.
On 24th May 2014, Amway Opportunity Foundation, in association with Deepalaya, held a presentation in Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony regarding the benefits of eating healthy and avoiding malnutrition. The event was clubbed with the celebration of Underprivileged children in Delhi take a quiz on the importance of nutrition and how to avoid malnutrition AOF’s Founder’s Day and the 80th anniversary of Amway’s brand – Nutrilite. Needless to say, the day was a perfect mix of fun and knowledge and a thorough enjoyment for everyone present.
To celebrate, the tiny tots at DSSC prepared a magnificent cultural programme for the visiting dignitaries and succeeded in awing them with their ever sharpening dancing skill. The cultural show was then followed by a painting competition where the children were encouraged to indulge their creativity and play with different colours to come up with unique hand paintings. A puppet show was also organised for the children, who sat enthralled as the puppets enacted popular stories Education is the way to true happiness and the path to self reliance. Something that these poor children from the slums of Delhiand folktales.
As the day wore on, the fun and games gave way to a slightly more serious topic. The Amway delegation, led by Mr. Sundeep Shah (Chief Marketing Officer) presented a video that highlighted the importance of proper nutrition; they also conducted a quiz that focused on food, nutrients and healthy living. The children, as always, rose to the challenge and answered every question with aplomb.
