Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy brings visitors from U.S. to Ramditti JR Narang Deepalaya Learning Centre
Abercrombie and Kent (A & K) is one of the world’s largest travel companies, which has been associated with Deepalaya since 2005. Over these years, the agency has brought several visitors to Deepalaya; some of the visitors later on continued to support our cause.
On 13th June 2018, the Lockwood family comprising of the grandmother, parents and children (aged 11, 13, and 15 years) from the US visited Ramditti J. R. Narang Deepalaya Learning Centre. Mr. Vikram and Mrs. Sukeerti from A &K Philanthropy Office in Jasola, New Delhi accompanied the visitors. They visited the classes of Level A and Level B students and enjoyed the poems recited by the tiny tots.
We organized several group activities during the summers at the centre like craft through paper cutting, diya painting, drawing, making of greetings cards, bookmarks, etc. in the basement game room area. The family interacted with our learning centre teachers and with some of our students from ASHA and remedial units. They also actively participated in the activities.
Headmistress Dr. Sangita Sen explained them the significance of lightening the earthen Diya and the meaning of ‘Deepalaya’. The old lady loved to see the woolen muffler knitting work. The family spent almost an hour in the morning and was pleased to see our centre.
