A trip to revisit history

Girl children from Deepalaya-Loesche program visited historic places in New Delhi. to National Rail Museum, Nehru Planetorium, India Gate and Akshardham Temple on 11th February 2016. A similar trip was organised during November 2015. Our team had to make lot of efforts to convince their parents for allowing their daughters to visit the places. The students who were newly enrolled could not take advantage. Hence we thought of organising another trip so that the new students also get to know about some historical places.

As a part of our curriculum, children enrolled at Deepalaya Loesche learning Centre were taken on an educational tripGirl children from Deepalaya-Loesche program visited historic places in New Delhi.  to National Rail Museum, Nehru Planetorium, India Gate and Akshardham Temple on 11th February 2016. A similar trip was organised during November 2015. Our team had to make lot of efforts to convince their parents for allowing their daughters to visit the places. The students who were newly enrolled could not take advantage. Hence we thought of organising another trip so that the new students also get to know about some historical places.

We were expecting a similar reaction from the parents. However, the parents agreed and gave their consent to sendGirls from Deepalaya-Loesche project visites different place in New Delhi. their daughters for the picnic. The students were very excited and gathered at Sector 8, Noida, from where we headed towards National Rail Museum. Children saw different kind of rail coaches and engines, which were used during the British time. They had a joy ride too in the toy train.

It was lunch time. Children were given refreshments and lunch before moving towards India Gate. They were glad to see India Gate so closely. On 13th February, they were taken to Nehru Planetarium, where they visited Nehru Memorial Museum & Library. The museum at Teen Murti has been developed primarily to showcase the multifaceted Deepalaya Loesche project had an exposure trip for girls who have never visited historic places in Delhi.personality of the first Prime Minister. The library houses cuttings of newsletters, Journals, Photographs and images of different public meetings, seminars etc. Children also saw rooms of Indra Gandhi and belongings of Nehru.

Thereafter, children moved towards the Nehru Planetarium sky theatre show. The children were transported to a different world. Then we distributed refreshment and proceeded to Akshardham Mandir, where they saw Idols of a large number of deities. Children enjoyed the trip. It also showed that we have succeeded in winning the trust of the parents.
