What an evening it was! Everything seemed to be in harmony with each other. Mr. K J Alphons, the Chief Guest, alongwith Mr. A J Philip, Chairman, Mr. T K Mathew, CE and Secretary and other Board members graced the occasion, the day of celebrations, when hundreds of children from different our projects came together to sing together. Every year in February, it has become a practice to have a Choral event.
Though, this blog entry is a bit late, I could barely hold myself from writing as they say, “its better late than never”. For, our readers would miss an event, which actually is the essence of Deepalaya. No other organization has such a huge group of students, around 250 students, with an orientation to sing and to make the world sing with them. If anything it shows is, the more the number of singers the more melodious and divine, music can be!
“If Love was love, There would be no Pain, If pain was love, There would be plenty of it/ Every single day around Choral Group of Deepalaya singing songsthe world, everybody’s trying to find some love, Every single day around the world, everybody’s giving only pain, All they ever find is a heap of broken hearts/ Who can mend them? Everybody’s looking for love Yea Yea True Love, Everybody’s looking for Love”.
If world had been so dear, so lovely, there would have been no pain as described in the above song. Love can fathom any pain, howsoever deep it may be, howsoever severe it may be. The evening went on with numerous other songs, motivational and inspirational.
“When the world leaves you feeling blue, you can count on me, I will be there for you. When it seems all your hopes and dreams are a million miles away, I will reassure you……. Reach for the stars, follow your heart’s desire, reach for the stars, and when that rainbow’s shining over you, that’s when your dreams will all come true”
Mr. Alphons addressing students and parents. The crowd comprising of students, their parents and the guests were enthralled to hear the composition. The hall was packed till the end. Mr. K J Alphons encouraged the students and recited an anecdote from his son’s life, who was dejected by his teachers, merely because he had a flair for painting. It required only a talented teacher to recognize how bright his son can be. Had he stopped merely because he was discouraged by one of his teachers, he would not have become a renowned artist. “Reach for the stars”, he said, “what may come, don’t deter, don’t falter, keep on trying, reach for the stars”.
It is this aura of “warm, intimate togetherness and determination” which has helped Deepalaya climb every mountain and reach the stars. The journey was never easy, and it would never be; the path would never be clean, but we have to go on and on and on and reach for the stars!
