Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension celebrated another landmark of success and hard work put in by the students. Achievements of students do not get noticed unless they are acknowledged and celebrated. In view of this, the Prize Distribution ceremony was held on 9th May 2016. It was attended by a galaxy of dignitaries and intellectuals.

Achievements of students do not get noticed unless they are acknowledged and celebrated. In view of this, the Prize Distribution ceremony was held on 9th May 2016. It was attended by a galaxy of dignitaries and intellectuals. Dr. Ash Narain Roy from Institute of Social Sciences was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. One of the sponsors Mrs. Maitree Sen, who constituted an award in the memory of her husband, the late Bhaskar Sen), was also present. Amongst others were Dr.Zeba Jairajpuri, Ms. Rachana, Executive Director, Ms. Jaswant Kaur, Director CRM, Ms. Shikha Pal, former Principal DSKE, Mr.T M Abraham, Manager DSKE and Mr. Sakhi John, Board member.
Choir group of Deepalaya singing songs on the occasion of award ceremony.The ceremony began with an opening hymn followed by the lighting of the lamp. Mr. Trevor Jacob, the Principal of DSKE welcomed the gathering. The cultural team put up a visual treat for the audience with their enthralling performances-Saraswati Vandana and a Bengali Dance. The school choir left the gathering appalled with their beautiful rendition of voices. Dr Roy enlightened everybody with his thought provoking message.
Around 70 students were felicitated for their achievement in various fields like academics, sports, dance, art, music and for their all-round performance during the academic year 2015-16. There were a few students who have excelled in their respective classes continuously for a period of three years.

Interestingly, all the awards given to students were sponsored by our donors, who have stood by us through all thick and thin. Dr. Virender Sahgal from Gurgoan instituted 10 awards in memory of his parents and in-laws. Mrs Meera Jacob, Vice Principal proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who toiled to make this event a grand success. The eventful ceremony came to a close with the National Anthem.
