Difficult situations come with every project, especially when a place is entirely new. At times they linger on for a Community members of slum clusters of Noida, Uttar Pradeshlonger time while sometimes they disappear as they come.

When Deepalaya approached Loesche India Private Limited for CSR funding for which a proposal was given for identifying, enrolling, educating and mainstreaming 200 girl children in Panchsheel Enclave, it seemed to be a very easy project. However, there was a twist. While they were keen to carry on with the project provided it was relocated to a place closer to their office.

Deepalaya accepted the challenge and decided to relocate it to Noida. The preliminary survey we conducted did not hint at the difficulties our team Girls listening carefully about the girl child education from our speakerwould face in implementing the project or finding a suitable place at the new location.

The initial survey gave an idea of the grim situation of education in Sector 8, Noida. However, our programs team found huge diversity in a small area later on. People from different religions, different backgrounds and affiliations with different political parties. There are people who wish to support us, show their willingness to give a place on rent and refuse the very next day after getting influenced by those in power or asserting power.

Considering the situation, our team headed by Mr. P T Varghese decided to convene a community People in slum of Noida, Delhi NCR is getting awared about educationmeeting on 21st April, 2015 to motivate them and to clarify our intention. Mr. Varghese explained about our current activities and proposed project in Noida. Though the number was quiet less than what was expected, there were people from each age group including those who enjoyed some influence on the mindset of the people.

The meeting proved fruitful as it brought some positive results. Some people agreed to mobilise children and teach. At the end of the day, we could also find one big hall with toilet and other facilities where we can start our program. However, this was only the first phase of the program. The program will certainly bring more stories along with it.
