“It feels so great to see spend quality time with these tiny tots. Iam reminded of my own childhood when I used to play and do what I wanted without any tension and worries, ” said Brian Barnes, Senior Manager, American Express Technology (AET). 18 members of American Express Technology visited Deepalaya School, Sanjay Colony on 14 September, 2011 to spend some time with the children and involved them in various fun filled activities.
On the sunny afternoon, 120 girls took part in a drawing competetion on the theme –‘rains’. Magic show was the highlight of the day among the many other fun filled activities which included songs, dance, and poetry recitation by the students. The children kept everyone enthralled with their cute antics and display of talents.
“I was amazed to see the beautiful paintings and performances of these children. They are so talented and full of life. I enjoyed to the fullest and hope to come again soon,” said Kanchan Katare, an employee of AET.
The best three paintings among the lot were also awarded with special prizes by the team. The first, second and third prize were won by Savitri, Pooja and Anjali respectively- all students of the non formal education program which particularly involves the fathers in promoting the education of their daughters.
“Iam happy to win the first prize. I will share my prize with my brother and sister”, said Savitri.
The cheerful day concluded with the students presenting a Thankyou card to the guests
