My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky: So was it when my life began; so is it now I am a man; so be it when I shall grow old, or let me die! The Child is father of the Man; and I could wish my days to be bound each to each by natural pietyâ€Â This poem by William Woodsworth speaks volumes about the joy and innocence that the childhood carries with great élan. The two Schools of Deepalaya located at Sanjay Colony and Gole Kuan were started around twenty years back with a dream of restoring the pleasure of childhood through education. On a cold winter morning of 8th January, 2010 in the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Damanjeet Singh, Past District Governor, District 3010, Rotary International, the children of Deepalaya School Sanjay Colonypresented the Annual Day with full zeal and confidence. The highlight of the day was the Wall Magazine named ‘Rainbow’ which was inaugurated by Ms. Sharon Lowen, a renowned Dancer and one of the friends of Deepalaya. She gifted the School with a Webster’s Pocket Reference Library. Mr. Raj Narain, Manager Amway Opportunities, who was also present on this occasion, enthralled after witnessing the performances of the children expressed delightfully, “We are glad to be part of the Deepalaya familyâ€Â. Similar event took place on a misty morning of 15th January, 2010 when Deepalaya School, Gole Kuan celebrated its First Annual day after its inception from the past 20 years. It was indeed a great moment for the Principal of the School, Ms. Poonam Thakurwho shared the Annual Report of the School with the audience. It was a sight to remember when the audience could not stop clapping during the performances of the children on different dances and songs. The ketchup song dance by the Tiny-tots was the most adorable act. The Chief Guest, Mr. Sudarshan Aggarwal, Past Rotary International Directorwas thrilled to see the overwhelming performance of the children especially the confidence with which one of the group performed with their eyes blind-folded. He expressed his gratification by saying, “I am really happy to be here and would like to congratulate the teachers, students for presenting such great performances. I believe the students in this School are getting quality educationâ€Â. He said that the children are like wet clay; it depends on the teachers on how they mould and shape the children into a perfect structure. There was a bright spark in the eyes of everybody who was present at the occasion. Adding to the cherry on the cake were plays on saving trees, dance on bollywood songs which made the audience tap their feet continuously. Also the students for their exemplary academic performance throughout the year were awarded. The day concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks by Ms. Sudha Parthasarathy, Executive Director of Deepalaya where she said,â€Â It is because of the parents that Gole Kuan has reached this statureâ€Â She congratulated the entire staff of Deepalaya School, Gole Kuan for making the event a success.
