Nine Presidents of U.S including the present President Mr. Barack Obama addressed a Press Conference held at the Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension. Confused??

 

Yes! It was made possible by the students of the English Access Microscholarship Program (EAMSP) through the wonderful program they put across on 30th of March 2011.The EAMSP program began at Deepalaya in the year 2009 for the benefit of socio-economically challenged 100 students in the age group of 14-16 years, aiming to facilitate the English language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing; the program fosters the sense of respect for other cultures, customs, beliefs and rituals. It is the unique initiative of the U.S government to provide increasing opportunities and give direction to the youth of today, so that the students may participate successfully in the socio- economic development of the country and thus form a society where people live in symbiosis.

 

Celebrating success: we are no less-2While their peers were engrossed in the Indo-Pak Cricket Match, the young Deepalayans were proving their mettle by showcasing their skills of language .The outcome of five day intensive training; the program was a quick trip to U.S with deep insight into its rich culture through Dance, Music, and Theatre. The skit, Rattlesnake Ridge presented by the young students left everybody glued to their chairs and amused atCelebrating success: we are no less-1 the young talent and the dialogues rendered in immaculate English bore witness to the success of the program. The songs like “Fifty- Nifty states” by a second group took the spectators to a ride through the whole of America .The fun filled creative dance, the Modern Dance and the graceful movements of Ballet highly impressed the guests. Founder member, Mr. Y. Chackochan, Mrs. Sharon Lowen, eminent Odissi dancer accompanied by her mother Ms.Ethel Lowen were the guests for the day.

 

Celebrating success: we are no less-3“I enjoyed the program. Every bit of it was fascinating. Students and the teachers had put in a lot of effort and everyone present got the opportunity to learn about the American culture as well” remarked Sharon as she appreciated the talents and efforts put in by the students and congratulated everyone for the success of the program.
