“Our talents are the gift that God gives us, what we make of our talents is our gift to God”,

Students of Deepalaya School Gole Kuan lived upto it by putting up a wonderful program on the occasion of the Annual Day on 22nd of January. It was a moment of great pride as the hard work of the students and the teachers were highlighted in front of large audience of Deepalaya’s well wishers and parents of the students. The students rolled out the red carpet for Dr. Anuradha Sunil, Director Indian Society of Health Professionals, the Guest of Honour.

The mesmerizing cultural performances included a dance on Rabindra Sangeet:the tiny tots performed to  western fusion music. The dialogues for the play, Red Riding Hood, rendered in immaculate English left all spell bound. Thanks to Ms. Pooja Aggarwal, a volunteer teacher who has worked hard with the children for this production.

Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. T K Mathew, Secretary and Chief Executive encouraged the community to come forward and educate their children as, “Education is the most important tool to move ahead in life”.

The audience paid a very keen attention to Mrs. Poonam Thakur, the Head Teacher, as she shared a detailed insight of the school’s annual performance.

The highlight of the day was the presentation dedicated to the Women folk of India. The dreams of women were shared through various bollywood mixes.

The  celebration also saw the students receiving the Awards for Academic Excellence (The Punnoose Thomas Memorial Award, MLRD Goswami Education Trust Award were conferred upon students by the guests. The Annual Calendar produced by Mentor Graphics, a corporate sponsor was handed over to six little artists whose paintings have been included in the calendar. To encourage parents to take initiative in their child’s education, the Best Parents Award was  conferred upon  Mr and Ms. Jagbeer, parents of Neha (IV), Navin studying at the School. Giving away the same  Mr. Deepak Sharma, who has been a sponsor parent at Deepalaya for over 10 years regretted not having attended any Deepalaya function till date. “ I look forward to attending many more such programmes/events in future and to do more and more for Deepalaya”

The students seemed to be the ardent revolutionaries when their voices united  to sing the National Anthem, with which the programme came to an end.
