Diwali is a festival of lights, love and happiness, is all about illuminating people’s lives. Generally, we celebrate the festival of Diwali by meeting our relatives, spending time with friends. We decorate our houses with candles and colorful lights. The day culminates with fireworks and sharing gifts.
For the last 40 years, we have been celebrating Diwali as a family. Deepalaya is making a difference in the lives of millions of children who have been coming from less-privileged communities. We have built community infrastructure and given access to education and a new life. This year it is different, it is about being mindful of the people in need. It is about responsible gifting & conscious giving
This year’s specialty is that one of our sponsors Mr. Muzamil who is supporting 4 students at Deepalaya Children’s Home has donated a sum of Rs.50000/- for Diwali celebrations. As we all know that schools are closed due to covid 19 we decided to celebrate Diwali at Deepalaya Children’s Home, Gusbethi. The day was started with the decorations where Children decorated the home with their self made art and craft, lamps, different decoration items, and rangoli.
Rangoli competition was organized as well; students participated with great enthusiasm and our Secretary and Chief Executive, Mr. A.J. Philip given the prizes to the winners. There was a tight and busy schedule that day from the morning till evening and our students had a great time after a long time.
On this auspicious day our children also explained the significance of Diwali, they were so decked up for the festival. They shared sweets with each other. The celebration included a small fair as well in the ground where children played different games and had snacks as per their wish. Then in the afternoon, Mr. Muzamil Abdul Karim Sawant organized a special lunch for our students at Deepalaya Children’s Home.
In the end, children exhibited their talent through songs, dance, and drama. That’s how we at Deepalaya celebrated the festival with an aim of spreading awareness and joy about eco-friendly celebrations.
We had arranged a small get together at Deepalaya Corporate Office as well where we celebrated Diwali by following all the social norms.
We want to express our gratitude to the donors like you Mr. Muzamil Abdul Karim Sawant. We truly appreciate your commitment towards our students. As you can see, your contribution is making a positive difference and encourages our continued commitment to reaching our goal.
Thanks again for your generosity and support.
