For teaching children lessons,
To help them as they grow,
Let this gift remind you,
You’re the best teacher we know!
To make their teachers feel special on Teacher’s Day, the students across all the Deepalaya Schools made elaborate preparations with much fanfare.
The elaborate ceremony began with a heartfelt speech paying respect and thanking the humble teachers who laid the foundation for their success. This was followed by wonderful dance and singing performances prepared by students especially for their teachers to show their gratitude.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Mary Mathew, Ex-Deepalaya Sponsorship Head and a teacher herself, said “It feels very good for giving an opportunity to so many kids to come forward and carve a successful and self reliant future for themselves. The teachers should always be a role model for their students to learn and look upon”.
“We will celebrate Teacher’s day by giving a break to our teachers. We are playing their role for one day to feel the burden they take all the year round.” said Anil, a student of Class VII.
Teacher’s day is celebrated every year on 5th September is celebrated to mark the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence, and his contribution towards Indian education system.
The teachers enjoyed the show and were touched by the efforts the students had put in to make the day memorable for them. They also shared their experiences and the love and affection the students give them even after passing out from the school. Recalling one such incident; Mrs Renu, a teacher at Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to leave a positive influence on my students. It feels really great when students remember us even after passing out and come back and meet us. I feel it is my greatest achievement that my students remember me even after years of passing out from school”.
To felicitate the hard work, sincerity and dedication the teachers put in, a greeting card was presented to each school by Deepalaya Human Resource Centre. Further Oriflame India- the natural Swedish Cosmetics major, also presented the teachers with a gift pack.
