Throughout the years, the poor people are the ones who are vulnerable and have less access to education, food, and clothes, which only makes the circumstances worse. But the last two years have proven to be the worst in decades for every section of the society, and the unprivileged are more prone. On one hand, the whole nation is already facing public health challenges and the winter months create additional hurdles for the people who do not have adequate resources for their children.

Our children are one of them who are facing lots of hardships due to winter conditions at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, the little children come to the Deepalaya Learning Centre to study but are poorly dressed. At times, they even wear wet clothes as they don't have an extra pair of winter-wear in extreme winters. The consistency of these harsh conditions leads to an increase in the infection rate.

Deepalaya, the abode of lights, as it is called, has been working continuously to make people self-reliant despite the difficulties we faced during these years. Although the challenges are always there to deaccelerate our projects’ functioning, Deepalaya has strived to serve the poorest of the poor, ensuring that no child is left behind.

We are running a social media campaign named “Drive Against Winters”, through which we are reaching out to new donors, funders, etc. for our children. The aim of this campaign is to fulfill the needs of winter clothes of our children of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Thus, you can donate a pack of woolen material consisting of a sweater, a pair of socks, and shoes, gloves, and a cap. Just for Rs 1100/-. Or you can also donate blankets and jackets for these children.

1. Fight against winters 
Only you tend to help these children in the battle of the environment and let’s become the reason behind their continuous study without any hurdles. And hence, assist their bright future with your generous contributions. 

2. To help the needy people
We are the ones who support and motivate our close ones always to make them survive in every harsh condition. So why don’t we are using these abilities to help others too? Why don’t we have empathy for these innocent children too? The children who starve for love and care and the winter season act as uninvited friends, making the circumstances more negative. Thus, let’s start from today only to support these children.

3. Building up a healthy relationship with yourself
Donating clothes is not a one-way process of spreading warmth. Cherishing these blissful moments of helping others in their worst situation is another level of achievement in the era of bleakness and hollowness. So providing clothes to these children will also draw satisfaction and hence, lead to better self-esteem.

Yes, if you don’t have a wardrobe full of different colors, styles, and fashion clothes. This campaign is about how you need not worry about old clothes. As we became happy when our parents bought new clothes for us, just imagine the smiling faces of those children when they got new clothes.

5. Avail the facility of tax exemption under 80 G Section 
Donating clothes to these children in the monetary form will give you another perk of the government. 80 G Section provides you to claim deductions for the contributions made as donations. So, avail this service and support our children.

Deepalaya has reached out to 3,66,328 children, 13,52,265 people, 22,399 youth, 4500 differently-abled, 18000+ women, and 1,749 children through institutional care and activities in the field of education, health, vocational training, Differently-able, women empowerment, respectively.
