On 9th of May, three organisations from the social sector — Narang Trust, Soubhagya Nirmalam Foundation (SNF) and Deepalaya – joined hands to bring happiness in the lives of the underprivileged. When Dr. Faye Farmer from SNF interacted with the children attending ASHA and FADA classes at RJRND, the organization immediately came forward and proposed that they would like to support these girls with light food every day. Since the idea was noble, the Deepalaya and SNF decided to inaugurate the scheme in the presence of Mrs. Asha Narang from the Narang Trust.
The guests including Mrs. Asha Narang, Mrs. Shanta Sastri and other members of SNF were given traditional welcome with Tilak by the headmistress, teachers, staff members and few children of class II. The children then sang a welcome song and greeted the guests.
Mrs. Asha Narang took a round to class I, II and the remedial classes of the learning centre and interacted with the learning centre children. She enjoyed the poem of Class II children specially and clicked photographs.
All the members of SNF actively distributed two slices of bread-jam and one boiled egg to individual child. Mrs. Narang also enthusiastically distributed food among the children of both FADA and ASHA units. The inauguration ceremony concluded with tea. Mr. Philip thanked Mrs. Asha Narang and Mrs. Shanta Shastri for helping the children.
