From darkness to light……

All surveys in the country have shown that cataract is the most common cause of blindness and all prevention of blindness programs have been “cataract-oriented.” Keeping this gravity of situation in mind, Deepalaya has launched a program to address the issue of eye care in Mewat district of Haryana through its dispensary. Moving towards the same an eye screening camp was organized on June 30th, 2011 with an intention to identify the eye ailments in the vicinity.
It was organized in collaboration with Ministry of Health, Govt of Haryana in Gusbethi gram, on 30th June 2011 in Integrated Community Health Center and was sponsored by Give India. Multitudes of people from Gusbethi and nearby villages appeared in the camp to avail the benefits of the services.
Dr Madaan of the District hospital in Mandikheda, provided his valuable services as an ophthalmologist to the people who turned up for the camp. Cases of cataract were detected and were referred to the District hospital where free treatment was assured to the patients.
It was an occasion to relish as the new eye OPD was inaugurated with this eye check up camp. People of all age groups turned up to take benefits of the services. They were contented with the assistance provided to them. The objective of the camp was to make people aware of different eye related issues and diagnose the eye problems.
