As children’s day was approaching, the ministry of women and child development decided to observe child rights week from 14th November to 20th November 2017 by organizing competitions – “an inter-CCI festival – Hausla 2017. The festival was only conducted for children residing in institutional care homes.
A week before, children from different Children’s homes participated in district-level competition. Our children participated in different activities including athletics, painting, speech competition and debate and discussion.
Deepalaya Children’s Home and two other organisations represented Nuh district in this state level competitions held on 9th and 10th November, 2017 at Panchkula. Additional Director and Deputy Director of Women and Child Development (Haryana) were chief guest and guest of honour respectively. DCWO, DCPO, and other IDCS staff were also present on this occasion.
Mahan and Sonu from DCH got first position in painting and Chess while Abul got the second position in speech competition. Javed made us proud by winning first position in 100-meter race and long jump.
Children who got first position in the State level competitions will participate in the National level competition which will be held on 17th November to 20th November 2017 at NIPCCD, Delhi. We are hopeful of getting more prizes in the national-level competition.
