Child labour is a most vital issue; it damages, spoils, destroys and exploits the future of children. Children are the hope of our nation.
Reduced income is the main reason that most children are indulged in child labour because the family is very poor to even afford the basic necessities. Because of the immediate effect of the coronavirus, many people have lost their livelihoods and now the invisible victims, their children have to bear the cost. They will be forced to go to work and support the family instead of going back to school.
These children facing a lack of education and now a danger of being forced into child labour, are also faced with the malnutrition crisis. Millions of these children will also end up losing access to adequate nutrition, which is essential for their survival, physical and mental development if and when forced into child labour. Keeping this in my mind as one of the main reasons, we distributed dry ration kits to the families of our students, so that they do not have to worry about their or their children’s survival in such difficult times.
But with an aim to help these children with quality education, health & nutrition, Deepalaya is working tirelessly and has established a long-lasting dialogue with vulnerable communities across Delhi, Haryana, U.P, Punjab and Uttrakhand to address this issue through spreading awareness about education.
We have been taking active measures to combat child labour. Our donors and supporters have been playing a vital role in the lives of these children in finding a new lease of life. However, it will not be possible without the support of the privileged people of the country.
Deepalaya needs the support of the People with resources to help the worst affected by the pandemic and needs to donate essential support so that we all can bring a brighter future to every child of this country.
