A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . . but the world maybe different because I was important in the life of a child. — Kathy Davis Meet Gitanjali Krishnan, the Principal of Ramditi J.R.Narang Deepalaya School who has been an epitome of goodness and has always been willing to push to the limits of perfection. Recently, she participated as the Dream Runner at the Delhi Airtel Half Marathon,2009 and represented Deepalaya by running for its cause. We at Deepalaya are proud of her for showing her dynamic spirit. Expressing her joy, Ms. Krishnan said, “I participated in the Airtel Marathon as a dream runner for Deepalaya. The experience was very energizing. I love to participate in activities where I am able to raise funds for a cause”. She is proud to be associated with Deepalaya and says, Deepalaya has trusted in me to work towards my goal of imparting knowledge to the underpriviledged and I am proud to be associated with an organization that stands for such high values and causeâ€ÂÂ. She believes that we live in a large world, a world in which we bear enormous responsibility. She is also responsible in the formation of the Rocking Rock Band of Deepalaya. Honored as the best volunteer of Deepalaya during the organization’s Silver Jubilee function, Ms.Gitanjali has been a teacher for the last 20 years and is very close to children. She has been tirelessly and determinedly working for the betterment of underprivileged children around her and her anxiousness comes at peace when she successfully counsels illiterate parents and motivates them to send their children to Deepalaya School. The school offers hope towards women empowerment by providing a centre of vocational training too. Her mission is to educate and empower the poor, the ordinary with the special. She says, “In Deepalaya the focus is on discovering and nurturing special talent in every child. The objective of education is overall development of children so that the children achieve success and meet their dreams”. She acknowledges no boundaries, marching on tirelessly and determined towards the full realization of human potential. A woman of essence, whose expressions speak more than the words, who performs all her duties with utmost dedication, giving her best to whatever she does, she indeed stands tall among the very best.
