Santa visits the underprivileged this Christmas

The sad truth, however, is that there are millions of children around the world who are deprived of this experience, not because they’ve been naughty, but because they come from underprivileged backgrounds and cannot afford to celebrate Christmas.

Christmas is a time of celebration, hope and laughter. Perhaps the only time when children all over the world Children perform a Christmas play at Deepalaya School Kalkaji Extension wake up bright and early with a gleam in their eyes and a smile on their lips, ready to rip open and enjoy their crisply wrapped presents. The sad truth, however, is that there are millions of children around the world who are deprived of this experience, not because they’ve been naughty, but because they come from underprivileged backgrounds and cannot afford to celebrate Christmas.

In order to bring the joy and light of Christmas into the lives of such underprivileged children, Deepalaya, like every year, hosted Christmas celebrated at each of its schools in Delhi and Magic show for underprivileged children at Deepalaya School Sanjay ColonyNCR. The students of Deepalaya, who come from nearby urban and rural slums, got the opportunity to participate in games, win prizes and receive gifts.

A Christmas Carnival was organised for children of Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony on 21stDecember with the help of 14 volunteers from the Oracle. Despite the chilly December morning, a total of 180 children showed up at the campus to participate in the various games and competitions organised specially for them.Christmas fate for underprivileged kids at Deepalaya School Sanjay Colony Among the festivities was a drawing competition for classes LKG – Vth, a passing the parcel, a paper dance, a cap race and a magic show.

Needless to say, both the children and the volunteers enjoyed themselves on the day of the event, with the delegation from Oracle expressly mentioning their happiness for being associated with Deepalaya and bringing joy and laughter to the underprivileged kids on Christmas.

As 25th December approached closer, Deepalaya School Gol Kuan and Kalkaji Extension too Santa Claus visits the poor kids of Delhi at Ramditti Deepalaya Schoolconducted celebrations at their respective campuses. R.J.R. Narang Deepalaya School decorated the entire campus in a Christmas theme with trees, stars, bells, caps and stockings in every nook and cranny, a few students came dressed as Santa Claus and added to the merrymaking.

All in all, the Christmas celebrations at Deepalaya set the tone for the coming New Year, a year that promises to be full of smiling faces, unity and self reliance.
