Deepalaya School Gusbeti located in Haryana is one of the most challenging projects of Deepalaya, started around twelve years back with a dream of restoring the pleasure of childhood through education. Inspiring everyone, the students here plough the seeds of joy with minimum of the amenities available.
It was on a pleasant spring morning of 17th Feb, 2011 the students ofDeepalaya School Gusbeti turned heads, as they presented their Annual Day with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The program started with the auspicious Urdu Nazam by the senior girl students followed by the Lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest Ms Gurminder Nangia, Country Manager, DIDI Fashion, Ms Ruma, Business Manager, DIDI fashion, Rtn. T.K. Mathew and other guests. The students put forth a wonderful scintillating program. The vibrant dances of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat and Punjab enthralled the audience as the stage came to life, giving a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of India. The Tiny tots were not far behind with their melodious presentation on the English Alphabets.
The students depicted ordeal of the women folk to gain equality through the skit on the occasion, which marked the importance of the role of the girl child in the society and the importance of her education.
Since its inception Deepalaya has been focusing on the positive discrimination of girl child. The school today has 50 percent girls and more and more parents are keen to educate their daughters understanding the essence of the girl child.
The main attraction of the day was the giving away of the awards for academic excellence which comprised of the Rajni Memorial Award and award for the rank holders of the classes.
Special commendations were given to the Head Girl and Head boy and the house captains. Parents and several villagers flooded the premises in large numbers to see the show. It was heartening to see that they were out of their four walls, curiously inclined to see the show.
Mr T.K. Mathew in his address to the gathering said,” The students in the school are getting quality education. A proper education helps nurture a sense of dignity and self respect, and also paves the way to economic prosperity” He urged the children to study, play, learn and work towards overall development.
The qwali composed on Deepalaya and its work for the community – composed and sung
by the students was the highlight of the day. It spoke of the immense potential of the students and their happiness in being connected with their teachers and mentors.
The enthrawling and touching performances of the students warmed all hearts and touched an emotional chord. And thrilled to see the overwhelming performance of the children and the confidence with which they performed Ms Nangia through her own story of success encouraged the children, “Know your passion, identify your strengths pursue it and excel in it. This will enable you to achieve your dream” sheadded that the support to the girl children in the school will be extended for the next four years. The program came to an end on this happy note, while all sang the national Anthem.
