Deepalaya SHG ladies at International Craft’s Mela, Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana
Deepalaya SHG programme took the new initiative, as NABARD realized its potential and started promoting it by sanctioned our MEDP Program (Micro Enterprise Development Program) for giving training on making Jute Bag.
On February 11, 2020, 15 women from SHG from village Mandarka in Tauru block visited Surajkund Crafts Mela, Faridabad as we all know that they have been taking a training on Jute making and it would be a great opportunity for them to see the things from their perspectives and with the same view they visited there with a multiple objectives such as:
Women from Deepalaya microfinance project along with our staff member checking the quality of the Jute Bags for their training
To set up an environment in which rural crafts traditions could be displayed and to project the traditional rural ambience of a typical village near Delhi for travellers who may not have the time or means to visit an Indian village.
Our SHG women were very excited to see the various kind of shops operated by women/SHG members, they asked many question like, how long have you been doing this kind of work, asked some important questions what is the difference between cost and profit, How much they are able to earn per day, Where is the raw material come from for making goods if we make this stuff too, will you take it at such an expensive price
Overall it was an interesting and informative visit for all the SHG members. They thanked Deepalaya and NABARD for this unprecedented experience.
