In appreciation of Deepalaya’s efforts in bringing a positive change in the society, Oriflame India-Swedish cosmetics major, made a donation of Rs. 3 lakh to support the Deepalaya School at Titron at Saharanpur. The grant came from the proceeds of a month long campaign titled ‘Tender Care Vanilla programme” wherein RS.5 from the sale of each Tender Care sold was put aside for charity.
The donation was made at a Leader’s Meeting held on the 1st August 2011. This meet is organized every month in order to launch the Company’s various products as well as share other updates. On this occasion, the Deepalaya students enthralled the audience with a dance performance. Ritu Verma, Komal Rathore and Deepa- all alumnis of Deepalaya shared their life stories and how the Oriflame support had enabled them to complete their formal schooling from Deepalaya. Oriflame India had sponsored the education of a 1000 girls at Deepalaya for a period of four years.
This support received makes Team Deepalaya feel proud, stronger and motivated towards various areas of intervention like education, health, vocational training, gender equity and women empowerment.
The cosmetics major also invited students of Deepalaya to perform at ‘Make that Change’ event held on 24th August, 2011. The students were given the opportunity to present a choral and the dance performance. While the chorus sang a beautiful song named “We are the world”, the dance group amused everyone by their mind-blowing performance on ‘Jai Ho’ song.
