For the last two years our students have been participating in the event and have won prizes also. This year, the event was conducted on 11th September, 2016 at HUDCO Center, Bikaji Cama Place. 10 students (5 in eachKids from Deepalaya Education on Wheels program drawn beautiful drawings in HUDCO drawing competition. category) participated from different locations of our North West Delhi project. The students were provided with drawing kits as per the category. Senior group painted with water colours while the juniors used crayons for colouring.

The topic for this year was same as the theme of World Habitat Day theme of the year i.e. ‘Public Spaces for All’.  The winners will be selected by eminent personalities in the world of art and prizes will be distributed on 5th October, 2016.

A girl from education on wheels program of Deepalaya with her wonderful imagination.Such events help students in getting a different kind of exposure. Besides, the cash award of Rs. 10000, Rs. 7500 and Rs. 5000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd position is very attractive. Our DLC staff and specially our Art & Craft teacher Mr. Himanshu has always put in extra efforts in identifying and training the students at the centers. These activities motivate them and play a vital role in overall personality development of students, something they don’t get to do in government schools, where they are mainstreamed.
