Christmas is all about giving and spreading happiness. In keeping with the spirit, Christmas was celebrated at various locations of Deepalaya in different ways. The hustle and bustle started even before the Christmas week arrived.
Christmas Carnival at Deepalaya Sanjay Colony Learning Centre
jingle bell jingle bell jingle all the way………. The first in row was Sanjay Colony Learning Centre which hosted a Christmas Carnival on 20th December. The learning centre wore an entirely different look and was beautifully decorated. To add to the glory was a magnificent Christmas tree that drew many a gazes. The event was organized by a former teacher of Deepalaya and her family. The carnival was flagged off after a warm welcome to the guests followed by a short cultural program.
The students had a gala time playing games and winning goodies. The students from LKG and UKG played passing the parcel which took a funny twist when students wanted to get out so as to win a prize. The last three players were also given wonderful gifts.
Students from other classes played pinning the Christmas tree at the tip after being blind folded. They also tried their luck in the bag of fortune and many other games which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Ms. Asmita, one of the former teachers who organized the carnival.To bring out the artist in students, drawing and colouring competitions were also organized. The students presented their best on paper. It was a fun-filled day and a bonanza for the students with food packs, chocolates and loads of gifts.
No Christmas celebration is complete without the singing of Christmas carols and the congregation had a gala time singing Christmas favorites like Jingle Bells. The students felt the magic of Christmas as they danced to ‘Silent Night’.
Ms. Asmita, the organizer, expressed her feelings and said, “It was an absolute pleasure to organize this event. It brings much joy to me to be able to fill the heart of the kids with cheer and excitement – thank you for allowing us to organize the event.”

When it came to celebrating Christmas, Deepalaya School at Titron was no exception. The celebrations took off on 24th December 2014 and a few children dressed themselves as Santa Claus to spread joy and happiness. While a few creative ones came out with colourful charts and pictures depicting the relevance of Christmas, enacted the birth of Jesus Christ and danced in joy to the song, “Jingle bells”. Delicious plum cakes were served to all students and staff present at the occasion.
Prize Distribution Ceremony at Vocational Training Center, Sanjay Colony
The vocational center at Sanjay Colony organized a prize distribution ceremony for the stars that shined during the year on FADA student being felicitated by Dr. Naveen SharmaChristmas Eve. Mr. Deepak from IL&FS, Mr. Sakhi John, Executive Committee Member and Dr. Naveen Sharma, Director Program graced the occasion.
The program kicked off by “Ek Tu hi Bharosa” song presented by a group of girls from Father and Daughter Alliance (FADA) project dedicated to students who lost their lives to Peshawar Bomb blast in Pakistan, a few days before Christmas.
This was followed by a scintillating dance performance on the famous “Kishna and Radha” number. The enjoyment reached its peak when Santa Claus arrived and Christmas song “Jingle Bells Jingle Bells” was sung. Students could barely resist and started dancing.
Santa Claus distributing goodies.The guests distributed prizes to Mr. Nirmal Singh, Ms. Sonali, Mr. Bunty and Mr. Brajesh who topped their batch for vocational training.
Apart from batch toppers, Ms. Sangeeta, was also given a prize for being punctual and Ms. Komal for her all round performance to encourage other students.
The event ended with a motivational speech from Dr. Naveen Sharma and distribution of sweets and refreshment to students and staff.
