About the course:
After an overwhelming response to the first batch, we are ready for the second batch of the course. This dynamic programme spread over three modules combines live online classes, interactive sessions, assignments, and feedback. The course is designed to equip participants with the skills to become competent citizen journalists.

We will discuss as to why this is the best time to be a citizen journalist and how one can chart one’s own path. The course will empower common citizens aspiring to be citizen journalists to do impactful stories.

We have an accomplished team of faculty and the course is tailored to come to the aid of both trained journalists and common citizens who wish to explore the field of journalism as citizen journalists.

Common citizens can become effective gatekeepers and watchdogs. Through this course,  citizens will learn to closely monitor local authorities, political and social organisations and how to report on them and what platform they can use.

The course will enable citizen journalists to understand local issues, how to find news, where to find it and what the events and instances are where they can have an advantage over the mainstream media.

Eligibility:
Graduates with interest in journalism and basic computer skills and access to the Internet.

Employment in freelance journalism, authoritative online writing career, news sources for mainstream media.

9. How to collaborate and do collective reporting through various media formats.

10. Mobile photography, video-making and editing

11. Writing for social media, blogging
